Hi, we’re Just Foods Collaborative.

Just Foods’ mission is to be an inclusive body of people working to build healthy, viable communities through quality food.

With over 100 partners, we have a wealth of food policy, farming, sustainability and nutrition experience.

Attend our bi-monthly meetings to learn more and join the conversation.

We meet virtually every-other-month to bring together institutions, organizations, and individuals that touch all levels of the food system. These meetings are spaces to learn together, share about work in the region, and build relationships across siloes.

Upcoming meetings:

January 9, 2024 at 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM

March 12, 2024 at 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM

May 14, 2024 at 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM

What do we do?

Check out our objectives to learn more about the ways we tackle and improve the food system.

  • Support historically marginalized growers, especially small to mid-scale growers and growers of color, with resources and financial assistance.

  • Advocate for hunger and waste reduction policies at the local and state level.

  • Address health disparities by educating communities on culturally appropriate nutrition practices, and encourage programming to impact social determinants of health.

  • Promote regenerative and organic agriculture that improves the natural environment.

  • Generate opportunities for community involvement in local food systems and the regional economy.

Just Foods has taken many forms over the years. It began with conversations at the 2012 Just Health and Foods Summit in Rocky Mount, and has grown to include many new members and partners. These collaborations have led to our current efforts to establish a 501c3 nonprofit based on our members’ experiences and knowledge.
